With an outstanding cooperation and coordination between the executive office of the Yemeni Women's Union (YWU), and, its strategic partnership with the HEYA Center for Public Policy. The third dissemination event for publishing the policy papers - drafted by the HEYA women, took place on Monday, May 17th; the event was organized at the “Unity Hall” in the head office for the YWU.
The third event covered the dissemination of the public policy paper entitled ‘‘Developing Small Projects Sector”, attended by members of the executive office, women directors in the formal organizations, as well as, number of social researchers, specialists, professors from the universities.; in addition to number of media and press organizations.
The Event started with a word from Mrs. Fathia Mohamed Abdullah - Head of Yemeni Women Union. Mrs. Fathia expressed her pleasure with her attendance of the event and meeting with group of active Yemeni women and the staff of HEYA centre, as well as, other organization actively engaged in supporting women participation. She praised the strong partnership which was established between the HEYA centre and YWU since its launching in 2014. She highlighted that “The YWU was keen for its continuity and reinforcement for the support to women's status in the Yemeni community”.
On the other Hand, Mr Ahmed El Masry – National Coordinator of the centre, welcomed all the participants. And he thanks the Yemeni Women Union for their well organization of the event. During his Speech, Mr. El Masri strengthens on the importance of continuing supporting the small projects, especially during the current circumstances. He Also emphasised on the significance of the support provided to this projects from various institutions, which, with no doubt, will enhance the status of the national economy, that, suffer from number of challenges and problems.
Moreover, Mrs Nermine el Geiry, the field coordinator of the HEYA Centre presented a brief about the centre and its work from the time it has been established. Also the women federation presented a short movie presenting its activities during the last two years. Then, Dr. Mariam el Goufy - member of the executive office of the YWU – Lead the discussion of the policy papers; which she has expressed her passion for the success of the women and their effort to produce a policy paper in such vital discipline which affects the income level in the community, and for developing the national economy as a whole.
Both Mrs Samya ghazy, and Mrs. Nabiha el Hedery, presented a paper for the development of the small projects, which was enriched with various notes and suggestions from the attendees.
